These terms are an agreement between you and D-ALabs LLC (“D-ALabs”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in the Republic of Korea. They cover Flasklings: the flaskling and flk command-line tool (the CLI), the Flasklings desktop app and agent plugin, the website at flaskling.com and the dashboard at app.flasklings.com (together, the “Service”).
By installing or using the Service, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. What Flasklings is
Flasklings is a pixel companion for coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex. It shows what your agent is doing as a small creature, a Flaskling, that grows with the time you work together.
Flasklings is local-first. The CLI and the desktop app work without an account, and what they record stays on your computer. You need an account only to sync between devices, publish a profile, join the rankings and the arena, and make purchases.
Some parts of the Service are previews or aren’t available yet. Pages marked as previews show sample data.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
- If you’re under 19, you need a parent’s or guardian’s consent to make a purchase. You or your guardian can cancel a purchase made without that consent (see the Refund Policy).
- If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
3. Your account
- You sign in with GitHub or, once it’s available, with a link sent to your email address. A GitHub account and an email address make separate accounts, even when they belong to the same person, and we don’t merge them.
- You can connect the CLI or the app to your account with a device code. A connected device keeps access until you revoke it in Settings.
- Keep your sign-in methods and devices secure. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, revoke it and tell us at info@d-alabs.com.
- Handles are 3–32 characters, can be changed once every 30 days, and some are reserved. Handles, display names and pet names must follow section 6.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion takes effect at once and can’t be undone.
4. Your data and your numbers
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. We never collect your prompts, code, file contents or the contents of your sessions.
Usage figures such as work time, token counts and commits are counted and reported by your own computer. We can’t verify them, and they aren’t a measure of productivity. Growth, essence and rankings are based on these reported figures.
5. Public profile, rankings and the arena
- Nothing about you is public until you publish your profile. Signing up or connecting a device is never consent to publish, and you can unpublish at any time.
- A published profile shows your handle, display name, pets and their stages, collection, achievements and streak. Your activity heatmap, arena record and usage appear only if you turn each one on.
- Rankings are opt-in, open to accounts signed in with GitHub, and come with no rewards. Others see your rank or band, never your figures.
- In the arena, other players’ pets challenge a stored snapshot of yours. Looks never change a pet’s power, and nothing of value can be staked.
6. Rules of use
When you use the Service, don’t:
- fake, alter or inflate usage data, or otherwise manipulate growth, essence, rankings or arena results;
- attack, overload, scrape or probe the Service, get around its rate limits or security, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours;
- copy, modify, redistribute, resell or reverse-engineer the software or its art, except where the law allows it despite this rule;
- pick a handle, display name or pet name that is unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit, that impersonates someone, or that suggests you are us or an AI provider;
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the coding agents you use with it.
If you break these rules, we may remove or change the content, correct the records it affected (for example, take figures out of the rankings), or limit or suspend your account as described in section 12.
7. Essence and items
- Essence is earned by using the Service, for example by working with your agent and winning in the arena. It can’t be bought, sold, traded, gifted or exchanged for money, and it has no cash value.
- We may correct essence or items granted by mistake or through a breach of these terms. A correction never takes your essence balance below zero.
- Items such as flasks, headwear and tinctures change looks only. They never affect growth, rankings or arena power. There are no loot boxes: you always see the exact item and its price before you get it.
- Items and essence stay on the account that earned or bought them. When you link a device you used without an account, your pets, free items and daily totals carry over, but its essence balance and the items bought with that essence don’t.
- Items are licensed to you for personal use in Flasklings, not sold, and you may not redistribute their art. Items you have keep working from the copy on your computer even if the Service ends.
8. Purchases
- Paid items (sets, season packs and premium flasks) aren’t on sale yet. This section applies once they are.
- Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout. Taxes and the final amount are shown at checkout.
- Our payment provider processes payments. We never receive your full card details.
- Items are delivered to your account only after the payment is confirmed.
- Cancellations and refunds follow the Refund Policy. If a payment is refunded or disputed with your card issuer, the items from it are removed from your account.
9. The software
- We license the CLI, the desktop app and the plugin to you for personal use, or for internal use in your business, under these terms. We don’t sell them to you.
- Some commands change files on your computer, as the documentation describes. For example,
flk onadds a block to your shell configuration, andflk offremoves it. - The software may include open-source components, which are licensed under their own terms.
- Updates may add, change or remove features.
10. Other companies’ services
Flasklings works with coding agents made by other companies, such as Claude Code and Codex, and uses GitHub for sign-in. Their own terms govern your use of those services. Flasklings isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by those companies, and their product names belong to their owners.
11. Changes to the Service
We may change, add or remove features. If we decide to end the Service, or a paid part of it, we’ll announce it on flaskling.com and in the dashboard at least 30 days in advance. Items you have keep working from the copy on your computer after the Service ends.
12. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
- If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the law, we may limit or suspend your account. We’ll tell you why beforehand and give you a chance to respond, unless that would be unlawful or put others at risk.
- If we limit or suspend an account by mistake, we’ll restore it.
13. Disclaimers
We work to keep the Service available and correct, but we provide it as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that the figures your computer reports are right. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude.
14. Liability
We aren’t liable for damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, by your breach of these terms, or by services we don’t run.
Except for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, our total liability to you for claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll post the new version here with its effective date, and tell account holders in the dashboard, at least 7 days before it takes effect, or at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable to you. If you don’t agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account before then. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you accept the new terms.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If we can’t resolve a dispute by talking with you, it goes to the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. You can also ask a consumer dispute body, such as the Korea Consumer Agency, to mediate.
